Elizabeth Castañeda has extensive development experience garnered from working in the nonprofit and academic sectors. She managed National Institute of Health-funded research projects focused on Drug use disparities among Hispanics: elucidating the complex interactions between socio-cultural, neuro-cognitive, and drug use-related factors. Her research interests continue to include health disparities among racial and ethnic minorities, women & children, rural populations, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Elizabeth received a BA in Anthropology/Sociology from Florida International University and holds certificates in Health Humanities, Women & Gender Studies, and Queer Studies. She is passionate about promoting inclusion and social change and understands the impact nonprofits have on communities. On her leisure days, she enjoys exploring nature, hiking with her dogs, and spending time with family.
